    What is unique about ShaSha Co.'s snap cookies?

    Our snap cookies are crafted from the finest natural ingredients, free from preservatives, additives, artificial flavours, colours, trans fats, dairy, and nuts. Produced in a nut-free facility, they're ideal for school snacks. Enriched with prebiotics and probiotics, each 30g serving provides 2g of fibre. They offer a healthy and delicious treat with only 8g–9g of sugar and 3g–4.5g of fat per 14-cookie serving. *The Original Ginger flavour remains unchanged and does not contain prebiotics or probiotics.

    Are there any nuts or nut traces in your products?

    Our cookie manufacturing facility is nut-free, ensuring no nuts are used.

    Which products are made without wheat?

    - [ ] We offer eight products made without wheat flour, including: Spelt Bread, Spelt with Chia & Poppy Seed Bread, Spelt Breadcrumbs, Spelt Ginger Snaps, Spelt Lemon Poppy Snaps. These products are made with organic spelt flour and contain no wheat. Please note that spelt contains a low level of gluten and should not be consumed by those with celiac disease.

    Does the bread taste sour? What is sourdough?

    Our bread doesn't have a pronounced sour taste. "Sour" refers to our fermentation method using natural airborne bacteria cultures, unlike regular commercial yeast bread.

    Does your bread get mouldy?

    Yes, it does. Since it is so natural and contains no chemicals, it will develop mould within a week or so. If mould doesn't want to eat your bread, would you?

    What are sprouted grains?

    Sprouted grains contain at least three times the nutrients of unsprouted grains, making them highly nutrient-dense. The sprouting process activates enzymes, enhancing vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals. We sprout our own grains for our bread and Bio-Bud products and have incorporated them into our cookie line for their nutritional benefits and improved taste profile, delivering abundant nutrients.

    Does sprouted flour taste different from regular flour?

    Yes, it offers enhanced natural flavours. Conventional flour is often bleached or refined, potentially affecting taste.

    What are the benefits of ginger?

    Ginger has been used medicinally for over 5,000 years, reducing nausea and vomiting from pregnancy, surgery, and chemotherapy. Our Ginger Snaps, known as the "Traveler's Friend," help relieve motion sickness and possess antibacterial and pain-relieving properties.

    Are there any milk or dairy products in your products?

    No, we do not use milk or dairy products in any of our products.

    What is a starter or mother?

    it is a soupy culture made from airborne bacteria and fungi. This traditional starter has been used instead of commercial yeast for over 2,000 years.

    What are probiotics and prebiotics?

    Prebiotics stimulate the growth of beneficial bacteria in the colon, supporting digestion, immune function, and overall health. Probiotics are live microorganisms that aid digestion, help combat inflammatory bowel disease, and strengthen immunity. ShaSha Co.'s snap cookies and Buckwheat Snacks contain prebiotics from inulin (chicory root) and live microorganisms.

    Can I use sprouted flour as a substitute for regular flour?

    Yes, sprouted flour can replace conventional flour one-to-one in most recipes. Since it has a higher absorption rate, you may need to add extra liquid in low-fat or yeast-based recipes.

    Yes! ShaSha Co. was founded by ShaSha Shaun Navazesh, the founder and CEO, who is an activist dedicated to health, nutrition, and sustainability. He is passionate about creating high-quality, natural foods and is a proud Canadian committed to supporting local and sustainable food production.

    Are your products vegan?

    Our breads, breadcrumbs, buckwheat snacks, and sprouted grains are vegan. However, only the Ginger snacks contain eggs and raw honey.

    What is Ezekiel Bread?

    Ezekiel Bread is inspired by a recipe from the Old Testament. It comprises organic sprouted grains like wheat, spelt, lentils, millet, barley, oat, and rye. This combination provides eight essential amino acids, forming a complete protein source. We make our bread through long formation methods; just as real bread should be made.

    Can I freeze your bread?

    Yes, freezing extends our bread's shelf life. If not consumed within two or three days, freeze portions in well-sealed plastic bags at 18°C–21°C. Thaw at room temperature inside the bag.

    Which products are soy-free?

    All our breads are soy-free, and our soy-free cookies, made with sunflower oil, include Spelt Ginger Snaps and Spelt Lemon Poppy Snaps.

    Our retail store is at 20 Plastics Ave., Shasha Farmhouse in Toronto, ON M8Z 4B7. Store hours are Wed – Friday, 10 am–6 pm—phone: 416-255-0416 ext.242.

    Does your packaging contain BPA, BPS, or phthalates?

    No, all our product packaging is free from BPA, BPS, and phthalates.

    What is the difference between Ginger Snaps and Spelt Ginger Snaps?

    Spelt Ginger Snaps are wheat-free, made with spelt flour—an ancient, non-GMO grain grown without herbicides or pesticides. They have a low glycemic index, which is suitable for those with wheat intolerance. Both cookies have a similar flavour, though some find the Original Ginger Snaps have a more pungent ginger taste. Note: Spelt contains a low level of gluten and isn't suitable for celiac disease patients.

    What products do you have that are gluten-free?

    Our Bio-Bud sprouted grains (lentils, mung beans, chickpeas) and sprouted blind line of products are the only gluten-free products in our range.

    What is Palm Fruit Oil? Why do you use it?

    Palm Fruit Oil is derived from the fruit of the oil palm tree. It is naturally semi-solid at room temperature and does not require hydrogenation. We use it because it is trans-fat-free, odourless, and a healthy option for cooking and baking. We buy only from sustainable farming suppliers.

    What is my order status?

    You can view your order status by looking up your order.

    How will you know where and how to send my physical product?

    If you order a physical product, a Shipping Information page will appear during checkout so you can enter a shipping address and choose a shipping method.

    Should I put spaces or dashes in the credit card number?

    Your card number should be entered in as a continuous string of numbers.

    Can I order without a credit card?

    No. The only form of payment accepted is with a credit card.

    How will the charge show up on my credit card?

    The charge will appear on your credit card as: "DRI*Western Digital Online Store".

    Why are you not accepting my credit card?

    We will not bill you until your product(s), including backordered or preordered items, are actually shipped.

    How do I enter a shipping address?
