Shasha Shaun Navazesh

Shasha is the founder and CEO of ShaSha Co.

Shasha discovered his passion for food manufacturing /baking after combining his background in microbiology and perfecting his baking skills at Toronto’s George Brown College. Graduating in 1991, he would later become an advisor at George Brown College. After working almost every job in the food industry, from pastry chef, executive chef, master baker to food manufacturing consultant, he decided to devote his efforts to something he was truly passionate about – opening an artisan bakery/healthy food manufacturer.

Shasha launched his artisan bakery in June 1998 with bakery facilities on Queen Street in Toronto. He sold small batches of organic baked products to high-end gourmet stores in Toronto and would later develop the renowned heart-shaped ginger snaps for which his company is now famous. In 1999 he moved to new facilities in Etobicoke Ontario, manufacturing 4 different lines-of-product serving customers throughout Canada, the U.S, and internationally. Shasha continues to be a student of food chemistry having visited over 50 countries to discover new techniques and ingredients to better meet the needs of customers seeking a well-balanced and healthy lifestyle. Shasha in involved in Government lobbying efforts and in various food associations in Canada and the USA in support of Organic farming and healthy food manufacturing.

Shasha was also the founder and President of the Artisan Bakers’ Quality Alliance (ABQA), responsible for certifying authentic artisanal breads with a minimum 4 hours of fermentation for improved health and digestibility.
Today, Shasha continues to search for solutions to obesity, diabetes, allergies and other illnesses by changing what we eat and putting the nutrients back into nutrition!
